Albany Primary School Presents
Pimpernel
Directed by Findlay MacNish
Albany Town Hall Theatre
7:30pm Friday 12th & Saturday 13th, Friday 19th & Saturday 20th September 2008
"They seek him here, they seek him there, those Frenchies seek him everywhere…"
So goes the famous little poem of Sir Percy Blakeney, the English nobleman, who under the nom-de-guerre of The Pimpernel, a small flower which is his family crest, rescues, with his "League of the Pimpernel", innocent aristocrats from the shadow of the guillotine during the worst excesses of the French Revolution.
We meet so many great characters, both French and English, imbibed with the spirit of their two nations at this momentous period of history, that naming them all would give away too much of the drama and comedy!
Tickets $19 / Child >16 $11

The Carpenters from Kempsey
Albany Town Hall Theatre
8:00pm Saturday 18th October 2008
Written by Darren Mapes and Linda Nagle, Directed by Linda Nagle.
Darren & Sharon Carpenter are twins, born six months apart, from Kempsey, NSW. Darren and Sharon have hit the road singing. Singing all the songs that made those other Carpenters famous, including Top of the World, We've Only Just Begun, Yesterday Once More, Close To You, Ticket to Ride, Rainy Days and Mondays, and many others - as well as the odd parody. Darren and Sharon are truly country hicks, when they talk, they're from the farm in Kempsey, but when they sing, they pay homage to the beautiful sounds of those other Carpenters. This show is hysterically funny, with beautiful music and songs so memorable you can't help but sing along.
The Carpenters from Kempsey is an hilarious journey! ,
““Delightful, hilarious and highly enjoyable – I loved reliving the songs of my youth with The Carpenters from Kempsey” – Ian Phipps, ABC Radio
“Darren Mapes and Lisa Adam are a mean pair of performers… one flailingly funny number after another” – Peter Burdon, Blaze, Adelaide
Tickets $29.90 / Pension Card $26.90 Group 10+ $24.90 / Student Card/Child >16 $18.90

Work Hard Play Hard Tour
With Special Guest Chris Murphy
Albany Town Hall Theatre
8:00pm Thursday 20th November 2008
Platinum selling performer Adam Brand is joining forces in November with Steve Forde to deliver one of the most explosive line-ups of 2008. After collaborating last year on the Spirit Of The Bush project (with Lee Kernaghan) the duo decided to take their magic on the road for the very first time.
Adam Brand needs no introduction; he’s sold several hundred thousand albums, is the recipient of numerous awards, including 11 Golden Guitars, and is one of the country’s most sought after live acts.
Steve Forde burst onto the country music scene in 2002, since then he’s released four very successful albums and toured extensively across Australia. Steve’s own TV Series “Rollin With…..” (airs on the Foxtel & Austar networks), his intense touring schedule, along with the release of his brand new ABC/Universal album “Guns & Guitars”, ensures another huge year.
These two boys are renowned for their explosive high-energy stage shows; this is country at its best.
